This morning Apollo and I cruised along our five mile loop.  It's our last time conditioning at home before heading to the white mountains of New Hampshire.

My goal today was to stress his wind a bit without straining his body too much.  With that in mind I opted for a shorter loop and some galloping.  He has built some powerful muscles that allow him to move much faster and more easily than he did when we began galloping.  We were flying this morning!

I am so excited for this trip.  I will spend a good amount of time tomorrow packing everything and double checking all of our equipment.  We will get on the road on the earlier side on Saturday after Apollo has a bath.  I plan on taking him for an easy spin around the trails at Great Glen.  Visit this link to see a trail map:http://www.greatglentrails.com/summer/outdoor-center-2/trail-map/
After that we will settle Apollo in at a local stable and then head back to the mountain for a drive up the auto road.  There will be a barbecue dinner at which I hope we will get a briefing on the ride. We'll be heading up the road around 5:30 on Sunday morning.  Apollo and I will be ready and waiting because we want a shot at the summit! Here is a link to a map for the auto road as it will be setup for riders and drivers this weekend:http://horseweekend.mt-washington.com/files/2011/01/mwcrwmap.jpg
I will post pictures and details and hopefully some video from the trek on here as soon as we get home.Thank you so much to everyone who has donated.  The site will remain open and will accept donations through the end of the year so keep that in mind if you know anyone who has been affected by this disease and may want to donate and therefore do something to fight back!I will be thinking of all of you on Sunday!
